I customarily send e-mail that incorporates a digital signature. This digital signature may appear as an attachment to the e-mail you receive. The attachment typically has the name smime.ps7 and will not open if you click on it. This is not a virus. It does not contain a virus.
If you are concerned about the security of online communications, I can send and receive encrypted e-mail. You must have a digital signature certificate in order to receive encrypted e-mail from me, or to send me encrypted e-mail. If you wish to communicate with that security feature, please address an e-mail to me containing your digital signature certificate. When I receive and accept it, I will send you a confirming e-mail. Please do not send encrypted e-mail until you receive my message confirming receipt of your certificate.
